Wedding Photography Leicester – a year in the life

This time last year we were over in Leicester at Ullesthorpe Court Hotel, part of the Best Western chain for the wedding of Kerry and Lee

After a drive over through what was rather rough conditions to this beautiful hotel in the middle of nowhere with sweeping fields around it, I can imagine on a glorious day in summer with the stunning views, this place would be incredible.

Unfortunately, this was not the middle of summer and weather conditions, especially the strong winds I seem to recall meant this was going to be a day where everything would need to be inside – and it was.

In no way did this detract though from what is a lovely venue and what was ultimately a lovely enjoyable wedding for the happy couple.

From our point of view, we were rather fortunate that the top half of the main room was a perfect setting for all the family photos, light, spacious and a lovely clean backdrop which made it very easy on the day.

The evening was a huge amount of fun and for the first time I came across one of the Photo Booth Mirrors. Whilst really popular and common place now, this was the first time I had seen one and what fun it was.

Whilst not the greatest for actually getting “clean” photos because the background to them is whatever happens to be behind you at the time, they are certainly great fun and very interactive and explains why they have been so popular over the last 12 months.

Also on that day, the other half of the team were over in Solihull at the Regency Hotel for the wedding of Joanne and Alex. Strangely the same weather conditions that was happening in Leicester – very cold and very windy, also meaning a day of primarily indoor photography. Did just about to manage to get outside to get the big group photo before the heavens opened once again, such a shame.

That hotel has recently undergone a facelift and doesn’t half make a difference as its been really freshened up. At least this made the indoor photography all that little bit easier.

A great day was had by both couples though and we wish them all the very best as they approach their first anniversary tomorrow.
