Wedding Photography The Ashes Endon
Cant quite believe its been a year today since we shot the wedding of our good friends Katie and James at the Ashes in Endon
As barn wedding venues go you can’t get more picturesque than The Ashes. The fifty acre estate rests at the foothills of the Peak District National Park, within the borders of Staffordshire in the West Midlands.
Amble up the mile long, tree-lined, private driveway through golden fields of corn and lush grassland, over a 17th century stone bridge and you begin to appreciate the charm of this stunning countryside wedding venue.
Featuring a lake, a flagstone platform overlooking the majestic pond, formal lawns, landscaped borders, an intimate stone courtyard and a Grade II* Listed Manor House as backdrops for your wedding photographs.
As this is a regular venue for us to photography at, indeed just before Katie and James wedding we’d been there twice in the previous 3 weeks, it is always a pleasure to shoot at.
Katie and James wedding started off with preparation photos in the cottages just by the entrance to the venue and moved into the main bridal changing room.
A bit of fun was had with the men with their photo’s, albeit a rather cold morning it has to be said – well it was December……
Moving into the beautiful barn setting for the service and then fortunately a bit of afternoon sunshine to get us through the family photos. Fields were a bit wet and restrictive in view of the weather in the lead up to the day, but didn’t stop us getting some stunning photos.
A truly wonderful day at a stunning venue that we are always happy to shoot at. The day is then made all the nicer when its a couple you have known for years.
Congratulations to Katie and James as they celebrate their first anniversary today
